Humanity is on the ropes, and after years of fighting a two-front war with losing odds, so is North American Defense Corps officer Andrew Grayson. He dreams of dropping out of the service one day, alongside his pilot girlfriend, but as warfare consumes entire planets and conditions on Earth deteriorate, he wonders if there will be anywhere left for them to go.

Wow, incredible story!

I loved this book and the story as it was presented. As part two of the story, it skips a little bit forward in time and presents a bit more backstory on our characters... and then throws them into impossible situations. And just when you think all hope is lost, the action increases and the book becomes a page-turner that I cannot put down. The last parts of this book climax in a way that sets up the next book to be even bigger. This has been one of the best military-style sci-fi books I've read and would be on par with TV shows like Battlestar Galactica and The Expanse if it was put into film. Worth the time to read!
