Bilbo Baggins is a reasonably typical hobbit: fond of sleeping, eating, drinking, parties and presents. However, it is his destiny to travel to the dwarflands in the east, to help slay the dragon Smaug. Es bonito volver a la Tierra Media

No sé si es justo comparar este libro con «El Señor de los Anillos», pero me resulta difícil no hacerlo. Pese a lo interesante de la historia y lo emocionante de cualquier viaje y aventura por la Tierra Media, no siento que haya llegado a conocer a los personajes y encariñarme de ellos como en la trilogía.
